Temps de Flors, Girona

Girona is a beautiful city year-round. But in May it gets all dressed up for an annual flower exhibition. Flowers are placed all over the city, in churches, courtyards, roads, and even in peoples private houses. The event lasts for a week, and it is free to all.

Flowers make everyone happy! I dont think you'll ever hear anyone say "I dont like flowers", unless they have allergies, but even then, they're still nice to look at.

I spent one friday morning wandering around the city like a bee, from flower to flower, as the temperature steadily rose to about 30 degree...very hot for May.

Que bellas son las flores!!!

How-to: Paella!!!

I'm really starting to think that all Spanish holidays are just an excuse to spend all day cooking.

These people know how to eat well and enjoy life. Work??? What's that?! Im not sure exactly how they all do it, but you would think that when barcelona has about 18% unemployment, that some people might cut back on living it up, but from where im sitting, nothing has changed.

Spain does have the second happiest kids in europe, second only to holland. But spain also has some of the dumbest kids, lol. Really, look up their test scores. Ignorance is bliss, and sometimes all you really need in life is a home cooked meal.

Alright! So May 1st, internationally known as El dia del trabajador, or Labor Day, (except for the US and Canada) most everyone in my town makes paella and takes a little stroll up to the huge cross at the top of all of Canet.

I spent the day with Teresa's family and learned the correct way to make Paella. Deliciousness!!!

This was the other paella firing away in the indoor kitchen.

Assigning seats :)

The final delicious result! Your mouth better be watering!

Im starting to regret buying my flight back home. Just a little.
